Alterations and Installation to Large Fireplace & Refurb

This big old fireplace had an old stove (pictured) sitting off centre on a raised stone slab. This picture shows the old stonework and stove removed. The chimney was blocked with birds nests because there was no terminal fitted and as can be seen from the second picture the register plate was fitted to a Wooden frame. ! A very real fire hazard.

Alterations/Installation in Small Fireplace

The Client has recently purchased a lovely little cottage with lots of potential, the intention being to rent it out as a holiday home. The brief was to take out the old gas fire and install a log burner. The stove selected here was a Franco Belge  Belfort  4.9kw of heat and Multi fuel.

We suggested that to maximise space in the cottage a log store could be built underneath. To do this some reclaimed bricks were used for the pillars and a slate shelf cut and fitted.
